Event Log

An Event Log Video is also available.

There are two ways to view the Event Log.

The initial view maximizes screen space to display events.

The alternate view contains filtering controls to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

IntraVUE continuously monitors all activity on the network. To access the details of the entire network one opens the System Menu and selects Event log. To access the details for a single device, the Event Log is selectable from the Device Menu.

Note: there is only one Event Log dialog. Once opened you can switch between all devices and just the ones you want to view by using the Only Use Selected IP's checkbox.

When the event log is initially launched, it defaults to the full view and no filters are set.

In the full view you can navigate to other events by using the Next and Previous buttons.

You may also select the Turn on LIVE button to see events as the occur with a 5 second refresh.

Select Show Filters to change your selection criteria.

The Event Log filters allow you to filter events using several criteria

When filtering by IP address, if the check box is enabled only the hightlighted IPs will be displayed.

Hint: to exclude an address(es) use Control-A to select all and then control left clicks to unselect the devices you don't want to see. This is shown in the example above where 10.1.1.84 is de-selected.

If you select by date, the time you selected will be displayed in the middle of the events returned.

There is a control to select how many events to return:

If the color code events checkbox is not selected, events are displayed with alternating grayscale lines.

Once you have made your selections, use the NEW button to see the results.

The NEXT and PREV buttons get additional events based on what you are currently viewing.

The Turn on LIVE button uses the current selection criteria and updates the screen every 5 seconds for new events. If you want to see all new events, make sure you don't have any filtering enabled.

Once data is entered into the event log it is permanent. Information will be available for any device ever scanned by IntraVUE, even if the device is no longer available. Note however, that if an IP address is re-assigned because the device has been deleted, the new instance will be a different device in IntraVUE. If you want to find all events for a particular IP address, including old devices that used that IP, enter the IP address in the Additional Text Filter field.

If there are many different devices being displayed, you may select one device with a left click and additional devices holding the Control key.

A right click when one or more devices is selected displays a menu providing further options depending on what was selected. These options include:
